Volunteer with us
Thank you for showing an interest in Market Harborough in Bloom!
We would love to meet you at one of our sessions if you would like to find out more about volunteering.
Here's some information about volunteering:
WHO WE ARE
We are a group of volunteers who work on gardening projects including the rose garden in Welland Park, planters in the town centre and other areas of the town to create a vibrant, attractive town centre for local people and visitors.
WHAT COMMITMENT IS EXPECTED?
Volunteers typically volunteer once or twice a week, usually on Monday and Wednesday mornings. We meet at 9am (BST) in Welland Park through to late morning.
DO I NEED GARDENING KNOWLEDGE?
Volunteers do not need to have specialist gardening knowledge, just a willingness to learn and an enjoyment of gardening.
WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?
You will need to provide your own gardening gloves and wear sensible work/appropriate footwear and clothing. We work in most weathers. Hi Vis waistcoats are provided for town centre work.
ACCESSIBILITY
Every attempt is made to work to the strengths of a volunteer. We know gardening can be a physically demanding activity but we will always try to work in small groups or pairs to ensure we provide a supportive environment for everyone.
